Beginning
The beginning of this book, Patriot Games, really hooks you. It makes you want to read on to see what happens next. If you like shoot outs and explosions, this book is a guaranteed winner. Three assassins try to assassinate the prince and princess of wales. They were dumbfounded when a tourist, Jack Ryan, tackles one of the assassins and shoots another one saving the prince and princess. The other assassin got away. In the fight, Ryan was shot in the shoulder and he was sent to the E.R. He was announced a national hero for saving the Prince and Princess. I have a feeling that something will go wrong very shortly.

The movie was pretty good I think, it has been a very long time since I have seen it. Was the tourist American?

ReplyDeleteThis book was writen by Tom Clancy, right? I love the games with Tom Clancy's label on them(For Example: Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six). Do any of his books corelate to any of the games with his label on them.

ReplyDeleteI also enjoy government intrigue. Despite his good intentions, do you think that Jack may now be the hunted? Will he be protected if this is the case? Has he stumbled upon a larger plot than anticipated?

ReplyDeleteIs Jack still an agent with the CIA in this book, or has he retired? If you've seen the movie, do you see Harrison Ford as Jack when you're reading, or are you able to form an original image? Just curious because I can't read a book after I've seen the movie without picturing the actors the whole time.
Jack is retired in the book. Reporters came into his room and were asking about him into the CIA but he denied he ever was. Also, when i read the book i don't picture Harrison Ford because he see Jack as a more younger looking fellow.
