Leaving England

Jack and his family were invited to Buckingham Palace for a celebration and thank you dinner for Jack. He met a lot of people at the party and was very thankful he could help. Since Jack was unable to fly home on his scheduled flight back to the States because of what occurred, Jack and his family were able to ride the Concorde back to the states. The Concorde is a turbojet-powered supersonic passenger airliner. When they were on the plane, the pilot said they were going 1051 mph and the temp outside was -60 degrees Celsius and the temp of the outside of the plane was 100 degrees Celsius. When they arrived, Jack's wife had one of Jack's friends pick them up. Jack was very surprised. I think all this happiness will go down hill once O'Donnell comes into play.

Antagonist

The other assassin that fled the scene at the beginning of the story is back in Ireland where they came from. He is part of the ULA, a Irish terrorist group. He is planning to get Jack back for hurting his plans. He is also trying to kidnap the prince and the princess again, but with a better stragety then before. His name is O'Donnell and he is a wicked man that knows what he is doing. The terrorist group he is in has only screwed up their plans 3 times out of all the operations that they have done. O'Donnell knows exactly where Jack is all the time. He is a very powerful man with many resouces. Jack thinks he will be safe when he gets back to the States but O'Donnell already has plans for him.

The Hospital

Jack is now in the hospital since he was shot in the shoulder. The bullet missed a nerve by a half an inch so he is still able to use his fingers and the rest of his arm. People are coming in and out of Jack's room all the time. The Queen came in and thanked him for protecting the prince and princess. She knighted him, even tho its illegal for a U.S citizen to be knighted, the U.S ambassador talked to the President about it and they agreed to let him be knighted. Then the Prince of Wales came to his room looking glum, the prince said thank you for everything and he tried to leave. But Jack didn't have any of this, he tried to stop him by saying "Sir please stop" but he didn't so Jack yelled with a tougher sound and made him stop. The prince turned around and they started talking. The prince was not happy with himself because when his car was attacked he didn't do anything in his eyes. Jack disagreed with him and told him he did everything well enough without getting killed. This is just the beginning of what i feel will happen next.

Beginning

The beginning of this book, Patriot Games, really hooks you. It makes you want to read on to see what happens next. If you like shoot outs and explosions, this book is a guaranteed winner. Three assassins try to assassinate the prince and princess of wales. They were dumbfounded when a tourist, Jack Ryan, tackles one of the assassins and shoots another one saving the prince and princess. The other assassin got away. In the fight, Ryan was shot in the shoulder and he was sent to the E.R. He was announced a national hero for saving the Prince and Princess. I have a feeling that something will go wrong very shortly.
